A cemetery's physical appearance changes over time. New sections are developed. Trees grow and fall. Paths are rerouted. A digital map that was accurate two years ago may no longer match the current state of the property. Periodic drone flights give the cemetery an updated aerial baseline that reflects these changes, and CemSites can update the map layer with new imagery without rebuilding the plot data that sits on top of it.
The update process preserves the existing plot records, ownership data, and burial history. Only the visual base layer changes. CemSites makes map maintenance a periodic refresh of the aerial photograph, not a full remapping effort.
